LOOKING FOR JOB READINESS AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT TO TRANSITION TO WORK?

You’ve come to the right place.
Job Readiness, Work Training, and Skills Development

Our goal is to make sure every person in our program has the skills they need to do the work they love. Whatever that may be. Our job readiness, work training, and skills development is an important step in making that happen. Central to our process is our “person-centered thinking philosophy” that meets each individual where they are. Through this process, we can tailor work training and skills development for the specific jobs they are seeking.

Typically, our participants fall into three areas when they are getting ready to work within our community. First, some want to work, but aren’t sure what they want to do. Second, some know what they want to do but don’t quite have the skills to do the work. And finally, some know what they want to do, have the skills, but just need a little extra support taking that step.

At Anthesis, we have developed specific programs designed to meet our participants where they are. These programs guide the individual on a journey of personal discovery to ensure a successful transition into the workplace. As a result, the work training and skills development needed for each person will vary in helping them be ready for success in their desired job.

“Our tailored job readiness and transition to work programs help people master the skills needed to thrive in a community work environment.” – Mitch Gariador

Transition Employment Program

Are you worried about that first step into the workforce? We are here for you at every step.

For many, that first step into the competitive workforce can be hard. Part of job readiness is being comfortable in a new work setting. In 2018, we also started our Integrated Employment and Community-Based Supports (IECBS) or Transition Program. This is an innovative program that offers on-the-job training for people with disabilities in a variety of paid and volunteer settings.

Because we look to help develop the entire person, we look at developing 7 domains of self within this program.

In this program, we also explore the various types of jobs and careers that are available. An Anthesis community coach oversees the group and helps make sure participants are learning, growing, and having fun while fulfilling their job requirements.

For many, the work training they receive in this group setting forms the basis for competitive work opportunities. As participants learn new skills and feel more comfortable in a work setting, they become ready to explore other opportunities within the community.

Participating in the next program to seek employment makes up our Employment Placement Program. Once the individual obtains a job, we support them through our Supported Employment Program.

Our programs comply with the new Home and Community-Based Services regulations (HCBS) required by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

Most importantly to our process, success is defined by the individual. Our job is to support and guide each individual along their unique journey.
