Anthesis is looking for a Job Developer that has the ability and the initiative to build relationships with employers that help secure employment for Anthesis program participants. This person will know how to sell service and how to network and communicate the Anthesis Mission Statement. We need an individual who is persistent yet professional, motivated, organized and has the ability to speak to individuals in both one-on-one or group settings. Along with these characteristics, the candidate must be positive, confident, friendly, patient and willing to be an advocate for our consumers with intellectual/development disabilities. Anthesis Job Developer is responsible for ensuring that our consumers receive opportunities to work, volunteer or intern with employers out in the community and assist them through their processes. Job Developers may also conduct mock interviews with consumers that will potentially become employed outside of Anthesis. Along with conducting mock interviews and securing opportunities for our consumers, the Job Developer will also obtain information on consumers from DATS and IECBS plans in order to better personalize opportunities for them. The ability to maintain and update consumer files is highly essential for success in this role so that plans are highly personalized to each individual’s strengths and needs. Written and oral communication skills are also important in this role. The overall goal of our Job Developer is to ensure that our consumers are receiving fair and equal opportunities for employment and interning out in the community and to represent Anthesis in a professional manner at all times in order to be an effective advocate for the population of adults that we provide services to.
Candidate must have High School Diploma or G.E.D. and a minimum of one (1) years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Bachelor’s Degree in business, rehabilitation, social work, social services preferred but not required. Candidate must be 21 years or older for insurance purposes, have a current/valid California driver license with a clean driving record. Hours are full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm with some evening hours expected for chamber meetings, networking events, etc. Starting wage is based on experience.
