Activities for People with Disabilities

We support independent and inclusive lives for adults with disabilities with community integration through various fun and engaging activities throughout the year.

At Anthesis, we like to make sure our participants are having fun. And, of course, we have a lot of fun!

When we choose our community outings our goal is to maximize fun and encourage engagement. Of course, our participants provide a lot of input into deciding what is fun as well. One of the recent favorites was a trip to the Hollywood Bowl. During this trip, participants learned about some of the artists that have performed at the Bowl. Being able to feel what it was like to stand on the stage was an exciting highlight of the outing for many.

We have a wide variety of activities

Because we know these activities foster socialization and learning, we are sure to offer a wide variety of engaging activities. More than that, we know these outings are a great source of joy for our participants. Our weeks are filled with a mix of educational and “just for fun” activities for participants in our Day Programs. And of course, our low staff to participant ratio helps participants fully experience and enjoy all the activities safely.

In addition to these outings, the people in our job skills training programs and our day programs enjoy helping our community through regular volunteer work.

And finally, all participants enjoy our organization-wide social activities, such as dances and holiday parties.

We work very hard to make sure those in our programs have fun and full days. As a result, this is something we are very proud of at Anthesis.
