Administrative Assistant

$15.00 per hour and GREAT Benefits.

 Summary: Under the direction of both the Director of Employment Programs and the Outcomes Manager, the Administrative Assistant will be responsible for all administrative functions and support of the employment program office as well as all positions within the office. In the execution of duties, he/she will be required to provide knowledgeable, competent and professional assistance (technical and informational) while maintaining standards of performance, communications, ethics and confidentiality. The Administrative Assistant will be required to answer the main line and direct calls to the appropriate persons and/or departments and will answer over-the-phone and in-person inquiries. The individual will also be responsible for ensuring that office supplies remain fully stocked and distribute them to Anthesis staff when needed. Due to the nature of the position being administrative, the individual will be required to have working knowledge of computer software and hardware and have the ability to type correspondence (i.e. memos, flyers), communicate via email, perform data entry and take meeting minutes. At times, the Administrative Assistant may be asked to participate in community-building activities and represent Anthesis at such activities. Current work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, but may include some evening or weekend events.

 Qualifications/Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), two (2) years related experience and/or training. Minimum of one (1) year work experience with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities; or in field of rehabilitation, social services, business administration or disability services, is desired. Any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position will be considered.  Graduate degree desired. Ability to type 45 WPM, be self-motivated and detail oriented. Must have computer knowledge and skills in Windows and MS Office Suite. Basic level use of internet and email. CPR/FA certification and/or ability to pass certification.  Must possess valid California Driver’s License and have at least three (3) years driving experience, a good driving record, access to dependable transportation and the ability to present and maintain proof of automobile insurance and registration.

Physical and other requirements include: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:

  • Regularly required to walk, sit, and talk and hear; regularly lift and/or move and/or push/pull consumers up to 25 lbs.
  • Required to occasionally lift and/or move and/or push/pull consumers up 50 lbs;
  • Frequently required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands/arms.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
  • Required to have visual acuity in the areas of close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • Required to withstand exposure to outside weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, sun, humidity, etc.
