In Loving Memory of Alfonso Lota

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that one of our dear staff members, Alfonso Lota, passed away over the weekend of December 12th. Alfonso joined Anthesis in August 2013 as an Instructor/Senior Companion for our Adult Development Center. Anthesis participants were truly fortunate to have had Alfonso on their team, he was an asset to participants as well as a supportive team member. As part of the Anthesis family Alfonso was always ready to lend a hand and will be missed by everyone here. He was a favorite among our participants, he made everyone feel special.

Alfonso’s unexpected passing has been difficult. The staff have been sharing their memories and kind words about Alfonso, we share just a few of those below:

“Alfonso was taken from us way too soon. He will be missed. My heartfelt condolences to his family. I truly appreciate all that he did for the participants and staff during his time here, he was a valued and respected member of the Anthesis family. ” Mitch Gariador, Executive Director.

“Though there is so much to be said about Alfonso, I did convey that Alfonso was a well-loved staff member who always had a smile on his face and nothing bad to say about anyone.  He made everyone smile with his jokes and stories but when he needed to be serious (or firm with the participants), he could be.  Alfonso was well respected by management and co-workers and because he liked what he did and was good at it, he was usually the first one to be placed with a new hire.” -Kitty DuBois, HR Director

“It is so sad to hear of the passing of Alfonso. He was always pleasant to work with, having a very positive attitude when completing his duties as a Senior Companion /Instructor. I valued his mature work ethics, work skills, and his sense of humor, as well as his knowledge of the needs of the participants he worked with. He was a great guy and will be truly missed. I will keep his family in my prays. My heart is filled with sadness. Our tomorrows are not promised.” -Billie Majors

“I’m so sorry that this has happened. He was my partner in my PCT class and he was great to work with. I learned a bit about him and I’m sad that he is gone. May he rest in peace and God Bless his family. He will be missed greatly.”- Reylene Valenzuela
