Anthesis’ Day programs were represented and were able to make their voices heard at the ‘Keep The Promise Rally’ last Friday! Instructors Nicole M. and Kevin M. took a group of participants to Los Angeles to take part in a rally to create awareness regarding the underfunding of our system which is failing our disabled citizens. They reminded our legislators of the promise of the Lanterman Act and the need to provide better funding for our direct support workforce to ensure that this vulnerable population continues to receive the level of services they need. Our group was able to witness and take part in voicing their opinion about the care, service and support of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The individuals were very proud to have been given the chance to express their civil rights.
