Celebrating National Volunteer Week

During National Volunteer Week (April 15-21), we’re celebrating the extraordinary organizations who join us in the fight for inclusiveness for adults with [dis]abilities. Thank you to our nonprofit partners, such as the Rising Star Equestrian Center, who create volunteer opportunities for Transition Program participants. The Transition Program at Anthesis focuses on providing community-based support and job training for individuals coming out of high-school or looking to join the workforce. In this program, participants, with the support of their coaches, learn skills and gain experience through volunteering and paid internships. Prior to the pandemic, volunteering was a regular occurrence that was more recently halted due to the pandemic. With hopes of returning back to regular programming, participants at the Transition Program are eager to begin volunteering once again.

While volunteering with our nonprofit partners, Transition Program participants learn skills relevant to a future career and explore various types of jobs and work available to them. The Transition Program is truly a win-win model – participants gain valuable experience and nonprofits expand their community outreach and gain helpful volunteers.

A special thank you to Transition Program participants who volunteer their time at our local partner nonprofits. Our community truly appreciates and benefits from your volunteer efforts. Keep up the great work!

For any nonprofits in need of volunteers, now is the time to partner with Anthesis. You will gain hardworking volunteers and open doors for individuals with [dis]abilities from our programs to gain valuable job experience. Contact us today to learn how your nonprofit can partner with Anthesis.
