Happy Thanksgiving from Anthesis!

Happy Thanksgiving!

The holiday season is now in full swing. Given the uncertainty of the last two years, for many families this Thanksgiving will be the first time they’ll be gathering together since the beginning of this pandemic. While COVID-19 is still circulating, of course, and safety protocols are still crucial, there is a hope that this holiday season will be merrier than the last.

With the hope of a happier holiday season, comes the desire to return to the routines and traditions of the past. It’s human nature to crave normality. It helps us feel centered, feel secure, and feel safe. For those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, it can be especially challenging when routines are disrupted. So, the last two years have been exceedingly difficult for our Anthesis participants, and our community.

Here at Anthesis, we have done everything we can to preserve a sense of normality for our participants. It’s been difficult, of course, and many adaptations have had to be made— but we are hopeful that this holiday season, and the year to come, will bring more stability back into ALL our lives.

#GivingTuesday is coming up in a few days, and we hope you will remember Anthesis as you consider which organizations to support this holiday. We are excited and hopeful for what these festive days will bring— and we are grateful to continue our mission to empower and assist disabled adults in our community. And it’s your support that helps to make this happen.

We wish you all a joyous and safe Thanksgiving. We are grateful to you for caring about our mission. It means so very much!

In closing, some of our participants have engaged in Thanksgiving activities recently here at Anthesis and wanted to share with you what they are excited about this holiday.
